Plan Discontinuations
In our most recent review, we have made the careful decision to eliminate certain health plans from our portfolio.
This discontinuation of certain plans will be implemented in conjunction with your group renewal. At that time, these plans will no longer be available and certificateholders on these plans will need to transition to alternative plan options.
You have choices
If your group has certificateholder(s) currently enrolled in at least one discontinuing plan, you (and your employees) will have options at your next renewal. They include:
#1: Take no action: Certificateholders on plans that are not being discontinued will renew on their current plan(s), and certificateholders on discontinuing plans will be transferred to a plan in the EmployeeElect/EmployeeChoice portfolio with the most similar benefits and rates.
#2: Choose one or more different or additional plans from our EmployeeElect/EmployeeChoice portfolio: At your group’s renewal, you will have the opportunity to add alternative plan options for your employees. As long as the plan additions are made during your open-window period at your annual renewal, no underwriting is required.
Information to assist you
We’ve created the following benefit to benefit grids that provide a high level, side-by-side comparison of our current health plans (ones that are being discontinued at your group’s upcoming renewal) with the most similar available plan in our portfolio. At renewal, employees on the discontinuing plan will be transitioned into the new plan listed, unless alternative plan selections are made.
