These include a coordinated team that offers personal support related to your specialty medications and associated health care concerns, reminders when it’s time to refill your prescriptions, free shipping of your specialty medications, and helpful information about your condition and your doctor’s prescribed medication therapy.
Getting Started Is Easy
1. Call our preferred specialty pharmacy toll free at 800-870-6419. You’ll need to provide some information, such as your doctor’s name; phone number and the information from your health plan member ID card. Anthem's preferred specialty pharmacy will make sure your medication is filled according to your doctor’s instructions and will coordinate delivery with you or your provider. Patient care advocates are available to take your call Monday-Friday, from 5 a.m.- 7 p.m., Pacific Time. For TDD/TTY assistance, call 800-221-6915 Monday through Friday, from 5:30 a.m.-2 p.m., Pacific Time.
2. If you’d rather have your doctor coordinate the change to our preferred specialty pharmacy, just ask him or her to call our toll free number above. Your doctor can also fax your prescription and a copy of your health plan ID card to the toll free number at 800-824-2642. Upon confirmation of your eligibility and benefits, a patient care advocate will call you to schedule your delivery at home, or if it’s administered in your doctor’s office or a clinic, the patient care advocate will contact them to schedule delivery.
