Specialty medications are usually injectable drugs, but they can be available in other forms, like a pill or an inhalant. They usually require special handling, such as temperature-controlled packaging, individual dosing or express delivery. Most of these drugs are used to treat and manage complex diseases.
Accredo is our preferred full-service specialty pharmacy that delivers medications, including specialty drugs like yours, to millions of people nationwide. Please see your certificate for complete details about your health plan benefits.
When you use Accredo, you get personalized services and resources. These include a coordinated team that offers personal support related to your specialty medications and associated health care concerns, reminders when it’s time to refill your prescriptions, and a care management team that understands your needs and can provide helpful information about your condition and your doctor’s treatment plan.
To transfer your prescription to Accredo, you have two options:
1. Call Accredo toll free at 800-870-6419. You’ll need to provide some information, such as your doctor’s name and phone number. Accredo will make sure your medication is filled according to your doctor’s instructions and will coordinate delivery with you or your provider. Care coordinators are available to take your call Monday-Friday, from 6 a.m.-7 p.m. Mountain time and from 5 a.m.-6 p.m. Pacific time. For TDD/TTY assistance, call 800-221-6915 Monday through Friday, from 6:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Mountain time and from 5:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Pacific time.

Upon confirmation of your eligibility and benefits, a patient care advocate will call you to schedule your delivery at home, or if it’s administered in your doctor’s office or a clinic, the patient care advocate will contact them to schedule delivery.
Please note that certain medications may require prior authorization before benefits can be allowed. Please contact customer service at the phone number on your ID card for more information.
