Denver, Colorado (April 30, 2007) – On Saturday, John Martie, president of Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Colorado, teamed up with former Colorado Governor, Roy Romer, and Colorado Governor, Bill Ritter, in Holly, Colorado, to present a $25,000 donation to the town’s Victim’s Assistance Fund.
“This tornado was a terrible natural disaster that seriously wounded many of the townspeople and left the town in ruins,” said Martie. “Businesses were destroyed, hundreds of homes were damaged or demolished, and many Holly residents have found themselves homeless and unable to cover the cost of the medical care that they need. As a company that is committed to improving the health of the communities it serves, this donation made by our foundation, is just the right thing to do.”
“On behalf of the people of Holly, I want to thank the Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield Foundation for their incredible generosity,” said State Senator Greg Brophy (R-Wray). Anthem has shown that they are great corporate neighbors.”
