What is Pre-certification/Authorization? 
It's one way Anthem helps you get the most from your benefits and helps you avoid unexpected health care expenses. This step verifies whether a service, supply, therapy or medication is a covered before services are rendered. It may also specify the conditions, medical setting, length of time or any other limits of your coverage.
