The New England Health Plans — a regional plan coalition unlike any other — lets you choose and use any Blue Cross and Blue Shield network doctor or hospital in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island or Vermont.

Access Blue New England – Our most comprehensive package with the most widespread access.
HMO Blue® New England – A traditional plan that helps your family doctor guide your care.
Blue Choice® New England – Gives you the flexibility and control to decide where you’d like to receive care.
You have more freedom
Maybe it’s old-fashioned, but we believe in flexibility and choice. What could be more flexible than giving you the freedom to see doctors or specialists throughout New England? The New England Health Plans open the doors to network providers in all six states. Get your heart checked in Hartford. See a podiatrist in Portland. Have a baby in Boston. And you can do it all in network.
You choose your own doctor
With any of these plans, you’ll choose a primary care physician (PCP) to help direct your care. Your PCP can be on the next street over or in the next state over. It’s up to you. So go ahead, keep your relationship with your favorite doctor, the familiar face you know—and who knows you.
Need a second opinion? Not a problem. Each of the New England Health Plans allow you to see specialists throughout New England. In fact, with Access Blue New England and Blue Choice New England, you don’t even need a PCP referral. Talk about easy.

Wherever you go, your coverage is there. You can take advantage of the great health care options that New England is famous for without leaving the network. This includes world-renowned Boston hospitals, 28,000 doctors and 200 medical facilities. Basically, the biggest network around.
