You choose your health care.
When you need health care, you’ll choose the health care providers you want to see. You’ll have your choice of any doctor in our Blue Shield network. And that’s the largest network in Maine, with more than 90% of Maine’s doctors, including most specialists. You can also choose to see a provider outside the Blue Shield network, but you will have to pay more. The Benefit Overview you receive with your enrollment materials explains the costs.
Free from paperwork hassles.
With Comp-Care most doctors, hospitals and other providers will file claims for you automatically. This means you won’t need to pay your entire bill up front and wait for reimbursement.

Your Comp-Care ID card is also your prescription drug card. It’s easy and convenient. You’ll find details on your prescription drug coverage in the Benefit Overview you receive with your enrollment materials.

With Comp-Care your preventive care benefits may include:

Our care management program will make sure you get the care you need, customized for your condition and your situation. With Comp-Care you won’t have to cope with a serious illness on your own.
Mental health and substance abuse services.
Mental health and substance abuse services are convenient and confidential. You’ll receive maximum benefits by calling 1-800-755-0851 before you receive any treatment. Clinical staff is available during regular business hours to help you choose the mental health or substance abuse provider that will best meet your needs. In an emergency, get care right away, and you should contact 1-800-755-0851 within 48 hours. Clinical staff is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to help you with urgent or emergent referrals. To receive a list of providers in your area in the Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield behavioral health network, just call 1-800-755-0851. We will mail the list to your home or e-mail it to you, whichever you prefer.
