Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) is the computer-to-computer transfer of transactions and information using a variety of communications methods. We encourage you to submit your claims electronically for improved productivity and cost efficiency.

Anthem Blue Cross DOES accept electronic claims for out-of-state Blue Cross and Blue Shield plans.
Anthem will accept and forward electronic claims for most of the Blue Cross Blue Shield plans. Simply include these claims within your transmission file and Anthem will route them according to the subscriber’s certificate ID. It is important that all claims be submitted with the 3 letter alpha prefix.
