Building Healthy Families focuses on meeting families’ needs — no matter who makes up that family. If you’re having a baby or planning to grow your family, the program makes it easier for you to find personalized, on-demand health guidance. It offers support for all stages, from pre-conception to early childhood, including:

• Personalized solutions from health educators and nurse case managers.
• Help for expecting parents, adoptive parents, single parents, and parents of children ages 5 and under.
• 24/7 access to a convenient online site with tools and information through the Sydney Health app.

After a cancer diagnosis, it may be difficult to know what the next step is or which treatment plan will work best for you. That’s where the Cancer Care Engagement program comes in, giving you the support and resources you need including coverage for care at a Center of Excellence for pre-surgery, surgery or follow-up trips.

Expert guidance

• We’ve collaborated with Cleveland Clinic to offer a Virtual Second Opinion program. Cancer experts will review your records, diagnosis and treatment plan to ensure you’re getting the right care.
• A registered nurse and medical director will work with you one-on-one throughout your journey.

Health care for the LGBTQ+ community and their families

Part of living a healthy life is finding a doctor you trust. To make this easier for our members who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ+), Anthem offers the Inclusive Care program. This no-cost program helps you find doctors who will treat you with dignity and respect and who are experienced in providing compassionate, high-quality LGBTQ+ healthcare. Coverage includes travel and lodging for care at a Center of Excellence for a member (and companion) going through gender affirmation surgery for pre-surgery, surgery or follow-up trips ($10,000 lifetime maximum).

How Inclusive Care supports your unique needs

Specially trained Anthem Health Guides help you find the quality care you need. Working under the guidance of a clinician, they have an increased knowledge and understanding of LGBTQ+ concerns. Our Health Guides can identify medical doctors and behavioral healthcare professionals who are familiar with and sensitive to your needs. They can also help you locate community programs and other resources for support.

• General Travel Benefits

Help with travel costs

Reimbursement of travel and lodging expenses is available if a participating provider can’t be located within a 120-mile radius from your home ZIP code. There is a $3,000 maximum per occurrence.

The benefit includes:

- Flight for you and one companion in economy class with one check-in bag fee for each. Spouse and dependent travel are available.

- Hotel room and taxes.

- Rental car (standard or intermediate) rate and taxes, rental car fuel, tolls and parking at hospital and hotel.

• Transplant Travel Benefits

Reimbursement for travel needed for a transplant within a 50-mile radius at a Center of Excellence ($10,000 maximum per occurrence). Personal expenses such as meals, laundry, phone, internet, TV, movies, minibar, room services and GPS are not included.

Stay healthy and catch problems early for easier treatment. The RTX health plan offers preventive care services and immunizations at no cost to you. If you are not sure which exams, tests, or shots are right for you, talk to your doctor. Preventive care helps protect you from getting sick. If your doctor recommends services when you have no symptoms, that’s preventive care.

If your current provider is not in the Anthem network and you meet certain requirements, you may submit a request to continue care with that provider and, if approved, your claims will be processed as in network.

You may request continuation of care if you are in an active course of treatment for an acute medical condition or a serious chronic condition, if you are pregnant, have a terminal illness, or have a surgery or other procedure that is scheduled to occur within 90 days of the effective date of coverage.
