Lowering Healthcare Costs in Missouri

What Anthem Members Need to Know About Our Contract Renewal Discussions with BJC HealthCare

There are no changes at this time to your coverage or access to care at BJC.

Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Missouri and BJC HealthCare are currently discussing a new agreement to keep BJC’s hospitals, physicians and facilities in our network. BJC remains in Anthem’s network, and members should continue using your BJC doctors and hospitals exactly as you do today.

Our current agreement remains in effect through the end of 2026, and Anthem remains committed to keeping BJC in our network beyond that date.

What's Happening?

Health systems and health plans periodically negotiate contracts that determine the prices you pay for healthcare services. These discussions are a normal part of maintaining provider networks and occur routinely throughout the healthcare industry.

Our talks with BJC began months ago, giving both organizations plenty of time to work toward a new agreement while members continue receiving care without interruption.

Throughout our network agreement discussions with all health systems, our responsibility is to maintain access to high-quality care while lowering healthcare costs for the members, families, employers, and communities we serve.
