What Pathway Essentials Members in Colorado Need to Know
Anthem’s Pathway Essentials Network in Colorado is Changing December 1, 2026
Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Colorado (Anthem) is excited to announce that starting December 1, 2026, Pathway Essentials members in Colorado will have in-network access to UCHealth, Children’s Hospital Colorado, and CU Medicine for primary, specialty, and pediatric care.
With these changes, all HCA HealthOne (HCA) hospitals and doctors will leave the Pathway Essentials network in Colorado on December 1, 2026.
What Our Pathway Essentials Members Need to Know Now
- You can continue receiving covered care from HCA provider at your plan's in-network benefit level through November 30, 2026.
- If you are in treatment at HCA, you may be able to continue your care with your current physician for a limited time if you are receiving certain types of care.
- Beginning December 1, 2026, your out-of-pocket costs for non-emergency care from HCA may be much higher.
- Members may visit UCHealth to begin transitioning their care to a UCHealth provider.
- Emergency care is covered at HCA — even after December 1 — according to your policy benefits and applicable cost shares. You should always call 9-1-1 or immediately go to the nearest emergency room in a life-threatening emergency.
