To get Nevada Medicaid benefits through Anthem, you must have limited income and live in Clarke or Washoe County. Generally, Medicaid members are:

 

 Under age 21

 

 Pregnant women

 

 Families with children

 

 Adults 19-64 years old who meet federal income requirements

 

Other restrictions may apply. Contact your local Division of Welfare and Support Services (DWSS) office to talk with someone about eligibility or to enroll with Anthem.

Who's eligible?

 

Families who don’t qualify for Medicaid may still get health care for their children through Nevada Check Up. To get Check Up benefits through Anthem, families must have limited income, live in one of our service areas and have children who:

 

 Are under 19 years old

 

 Aren’t eligible for Medicaid

 

 Don’t have other health insurance coverage

How do I enroll in Anthem Medicaid?

 

Follow these simple steps to enroll:

1. Confirm eligibility

 

 Use the State of Nevada’s pre-screening tool.

 

 For Nevada Medicaid, call your local Division of Welfare and Support Services (DWSS) office at 800-992-0900 (TTY 711) and choose option 1. For Nevada Check Up, call Nevada Check Up at 877-543-7669 (TTY 711).

 

 Visit your local DWSS office.

2. Enroll with Anthem

 

Once you’ve confirmed you’re eligible for Medicaid, there are three ways you can enroll with Anthem.

 

 

Enroll online

 

 Create an account with DWSS.

 

 Complete the online application.

 

 Choose Anthem as your health plan.

 

 

Enroll by mail

 

 Complete the paper application.

 

 Choose Anthem as your health plan.

 

 Mail the application form to the address listed on the form.

 

 

Enroll in person

 

 Complete the paper application.

 

 Choose Anthem as your health plan.

 

 Submit in person at your local DWSS office.

3. Check your mail

 

You’ll receive a notice of determination letter telling you if your application was approved or denied. If approved, a confirmation letter will include the case number and a PIN to use with the phone system or at the DWSS Access Nevada page.

 

From there, choose “Manage My Benefits” at the bottom of the page. Then, log in or create an account to access basic information about your benefits.
