Access to transportation benefits

 

You can get transportation for medically necessary services through the local county department of job and family services Non-Emergency Transportation (NET) program. You can look up your county at the link below.

In addition to the transportation assistance that your county provides, Anthem MyCare covers all medically necessary transportation by ambulance or wheelchair van, for distances 30 miles or more from the member’s home. Please call the Anthem transportation line toll-free at 888-889-0929 (TTY 711), Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Eastern time.

All Medicaid beneficiaries

 

How often?

 

When medically necessary and patient cannot be transported by any other type of transportation.

For Non-emergency transportation to and from Medicaid-covered services through the County Department of Job and Family Services Transportation (NET) program, call your County Department of Job and Family Services (CDJFS) for questions or assistance with these services. CDJFS transportation assistance is limited to 30 miles from the member’s home.

How to schedule a ride

 

Call the Anthem transportation line toll-free at 888-889-0929 (TTY 711) 48 hours, or two business days prior to your scheduled appointment.

 

Reservations can be made up to 30 days in advance. Reservations for repeat appointments such as dialysis, chemotherapy, or radiation can be scheduled for a period of 90 days at a time.

 

For an urgent/same day appointment or facility discharge, members may call the Anthem transportation line toll-free reservation line at 888-889-0929 (TTY 711) 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The Anthem transportation line will try to find a ride for the member.

 

When calling the Anthem transportation line, you will need to provide the following information:

 

  • Your member ID number (located on your Anthem MyCare ID card)
  • Your full name
  • Your date of birth
  • Your current address
  • Your phone number
  • Details for pick-up address and drop-off of appointment address
  • Specific appointment date and time
