Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield’s Specialty Business Announces New Voluntary Virtual Support Tools to Help Employers and Brokers with Remote Open Enrollment Process

July 31, 2020

The innovative resources provide employers and brokers with flexibility and
remote tools to help guide employees in making informed benefit selections.
WALLINGFORD, CT – Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield (Anthem) announced the launch of a comprehensive, member-focused open enrollment option for Voluntary products during a time of limited face-to-face meeting. Dedicated Voluntary virtual support tools are now available to help employers and brokers customize and coordinate enrollment in Voluntary products through new no-contact options as more employees are working remotely.
“We understand the recent challenges in the workplace environment and how the COVID-19 pandemic has complicated how employers interact with employees,” said Jeff Spahr, vice president, Specialty Business Development. “At Anthem, we are committed to innovative solutions for employers that are simple and affordable to support a virtual workforce and make it easier for their employees to make smart healthcare decisions. That’s why we’ve introduced our Voluntary virtual support tools, which includes customized communications for employers and brokers, virtual meetings, dedicated call centers, and an employee online enrollment portal that provides them with materials to make better informed healthcare choices for themselves and their families.”
This comprehensive approach provides employees with access to customized online meetings regarding their Voluntary benefits selections, which are available on any internet connected device, making it easier to connect, communicate and get the information they need. Live virtual group meetings include question-and-answer sessions that can be recorded or employees can access simple and dynamic presentations with pre-recorded audio. Fully customizable virtual meeting options are also available to meet the specific needs of employees.
Employees also have real-time access to an Online Enrollment portal that allows them to review their Voluntary benefit options and compare plans side-by-side – allowing them to make better informed healthcare decisions. The portal can be accessed using multiple internet connected devices and is available 24/7.
In addition to the online tools, a dedicated call center team is available to help employees through the Voluntary enrollment process. The open enrollment experts are available Monday through Friday from 9am to 8pm ET and are able to answer benefit and administration questions, compare different plan options, and help employees to choose the right benefits for their needs.
Employers and brokers also have access to dedicated Voluntary Solutions Consultants who can help customize enrollment strategies, including tailored employee benefit summaries and kits, newsletter articles, employer endorsement emails, benefits education videos, and personalized enrollment forms, making it easier for employers to offer and enroll employees in Voluntary products.
When in-person meetings resume, the Voluntary Solutions Team is also on-call to meet face-to-face with employees and to answer any questions they may have.
For more information about the Voluntary virtual support tools, employers and brokers can contact their Anthem sales representative.
