Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield exchange network expands across Indiana with addition of St. Vincent facilities, physicians

INDIANAPOLIS—June 24, 2015 –Twenty hospitals across Indiana that are operated by St. Vincent have joined Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield’s provider network for consumers who purchase individual health plans at healthcare.gov, the online health insurance marketplace. St.Vincent is a member of Ascension, the nation’s largest Catholic and not-for-profit health system.

The contract agreement, which took effect June 1, also includes more than 900 physicians from St. Vincent Medical Group. 

While these hospitals and physicians have been part of Anthem’s broader PPO network for many years, they now join the network of providers available to those who purchase their health coverage on the exchange. 

The St. Vincent hospitals in the Anthem exchange network are:

• St. Mary’s Medical Center
• St. Mary’s Warrick Hospital
• St. Vincent Anderson Regional
• St. Vincent Carmel
• St. Vincent Clay
• St. Vincent Dunn
• St. Vincent Fishers
• St. Vincent Frankfort
• St. Vincent Heart Center
• St. Vincent Indianapolis 
• St. Vincent Jennings
• St. Vincent Kokomo
• St. Vincent Mercy
• St. Vincent Randolph
• St. Vincent Salem
• St. Vincent Seton Specialty
• St. Vincent Williamsport
• St. Vincent Women’s

St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville, Ind. and St. Mary’s Warrick Hospital in Boonville, Ind. have been a part of the Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield’s provider network since January 2014.

The St. Vincent Medical Group has nearly 200 office locations around Indiana, with physicians practicing in more than two dozen specialties, including cardiovascular care, obstetrics and gynecology and primary care.

“Keeping the patient at the center of everything we do, St. Vincent has joined the Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield’s provider network to allow seamless continuity of care for patients,” said Dr. Richard Fogel, Chief Clinical Officer at St.Vincent. “As a referral center for patients, especially pediatrics, St.Vincent wants to ensure we are serving all of Anthem’s insurance products.”
