Dental Coverage for Medicare Eligibles in California

Because Medicare doesn’t include dental coverage, if you don’t have dental insurance, you could end up paying for regular dental care. And you won’t want to skip dental care, as missing routine exams can lead to painful or more unplanned dental procedures such as crowns, bridges, or root canals.

What type of dental coverage is available for Medicare?

Some of our Medicare plans come with dental coverage built right in. We also have dental insurance that can be added on separately to a Medicare plan. These plans can help you plan for the regular care and for the unexpected.

  • Some Medicare Advantage Plans (Part C) may include dental coverage.
  • Plans may include low-or-no copays for dental exams, cleanings, X-rays, or other more complex dental services.

Shop Plans

  • These packages are separate from our Medicare plans and may be added on to some of our Medicare Advantage and Medicare Supplement plans.
  • These supplement packages are a way to add more coverage than what may be included in a Medicare Advantage plan.
  • You can also add these packages on to a plan that does not have dental benefits.
  • These packages come in a range of levels from those that focus on routine care to those that pay for procedures you don’t have regularly such as fillings, periodontal services, root canals, extractions, crowns, bridges, and dentures.
  • Some plans include vision coverage for Medicare-eligibles.
  • Available in some states.
  • You may have to pay an additional fee for these packages.
