LAS VEGAS, NV — [October 22, 2025] — The Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield Foundation, a philanthropic arm of the Elevance Health Foundation, has awarded more than $400,000 in grants to three Nevada nonprofit organizations working to improve maternal health outcomes and support women and families across the state.
The funding supports STEP2, the DOULA CO-OP of Nevada, and Living Grace Homes with each local organization providing vital programs that promote healthier pregnancies, stronger families, and greater access to care.
“These organizations are doing incredible work to support mothers and families in every corner of Nevada,” said Joy Thomas, President, Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield Medicaid in Nevada. “By partnering with community-based organizations like these, we’re helping to close health gaps, promote whole-person care, and build healthier futures for women and their children.”
STEP2 received a $110,250 grant to fund its BLOOM: Two Hearts, One Journey program, which helps pregnant and parenting women in recovery from substance use disorders. The program provides housing stability, parenting education, mental health care, and addiction recovery resources. STEP2 aims to serve 300 women and their children, supporting long-term stability and wellness.
The DOULA CO-OP of Nevada (DCNV) received a $100,000 grant to expand its Birth Doula Training & Integrated Education and Training (IET) Program. The initiative will train and certify 45 doulas and birth professionals across Nevada, with a focus on increasing diversity in the maternal health workforce and improving access to culturally responsive care.
Living Grace Homes received a $225,000 grant to strengthen its Safe & Sound Campaign, part of its Maternal Health programming. The organization provides safe housing, prenatal and postnatal care, parenting education, and life-skills training for young, pregnant women who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. The program is expected to serve at least 155 women, helping them achieve stability, independence, and improved health outcomes.
“These grants represent our deep commitment to advancing whole health and ensuring every mother has the resources she needs for a healthy pregnancy and beyond,” Thomas said. “Together, we are supporting programs that strengthen families and transform lives across Nevada.”
